I am the Braided Librarian, weaving together strands of language, linguistics, librarianship, reading, education, social justice, anti-racism, and more.
I'm thinking of using this site in part as a blog/annotated bibliography to organize the reading and research I've been doing the last year and some about reading, in terms of what linguistics and science says about how kids learn to read and how that can help close achievement gaps, as well as gathering and organizing other resources.
I am a Minneapolitan with a Linguistics BA and a Masters in Library and Information Science, and have work experience in Twin Cities elementary schools, both in library media centers and as a MN Reading Corps tutor.
